#WeekendCoffeeShare – First Ripe Strawberry, Mountain Daytrip, Work Presentation

Good morning! Welcome, would you like to come in? Coffee? Tea?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I saw the first strawberry ripen in my garden in 2024. It’s in the front garden, which, so far, has been about a month ahead of the garden because it faces south and because of the rocks, the overall temperature is a big higher than the back garden, which faces north.

This photo was taken on Wednesday morning, right before I went to work. It was perfectly ripened on Thursday and it was so good, far more superior than the ones find at the market. On Friday night, I went out and trimmed off some of the yellowing leaves from the strawberry plants to get a sense of what was going on. I grow my strawberries in a tower and it’s hard to assess the health conditions of the plants when they’re confined in a tiny place and unbeknownst to me, a couple of the pockets had at least 4 strawberry plants in there. I have no idea when its runners rooted and realized that I will have to pay extra attention to those runners.

I have a feeling it’s going to be a good strawberry season around here this year because with so many plants in the front and back garden, I have no doubt I will have a bountiful harvest. I only hope I don’t get tired of being strawberry-rich.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I took a drive up the mountain last weekend. I needed to clear my head of all my recent anxieties and emotions.

This place is about an hour drive from home. I’ve been at least 5 or 6 times but I can never get tired of the drive and definitely not the view. I have been here during every season except winter because this road is inaccessible during winter, and been amazed at the change of this view. In a few months, this mountain will be transformed to become lush and green while in the fall, the mountain will be streaked with yellow as the leaves on the trees change colors.

The road was only open up to this view point. I had wished to go further to cascade springs, oh well, maybe another time.

Finally, if we were having coffee, I would ask you to wish me luck. I have a presentation for work on Wednesday. It’s been over 6 years since my last presentation. This presentation is supposed to provide an overview of some of the tasks I perform at work. It isn’t so my bosses can replace me with someone else, it’s just no one in the department really knows who does what and everyone (even me) is genuinely curious.

#weekendcoffeeshare is hosted by Natalie of Natalie the Explorer. I appreciate you stopping by. Until next we chat. 🙂

    1. I think the strawberries in the back is infested with something but I don’t know what. Thankfully I managed to mitigate the past infestation in the front garden just in time.

  1. I have strawberries in my garden but I don’t like them so much so I let other members of my family to enjoy them as much as they can. 😊 The view on the mountain is beautiful, and I like your blog and positive vibes coming from it. 😊
