#WeekendCoffeeShare – Seedling Revival Effort

Happy Saturday! Welcome to another WeekendCoffeeShare! Come on in and let’s get you something hot or cold (your choice). Natalie is taking a blogging break this week but that doesn’t mean we can’t have our weekly chat.

I haven’t written about this on this blog but I killed a bunch of my seedlings two weeks and have been trying to save it. Honestly I don’t know what happened. They were doing so well and then I brought them out that day to soak in some rain and within a few hours, they were wilting.

I spent last weekend repotting almost every single one of the seedlings and that was when I discovered the soil was so waterlogged that I could squeeze water out of them. In total, I lost around 36 seedlings. Out of almost 200, that’s not bad.

After repotting the seedlings with brand-new potting mix, I began observing them as close as a mom observing her newborn. After one week of observation and non-watering, it appears the seedlings might turn out okay. Three gardening seasons in and I’m still trying to get a hang on seed starting. For all I know, seed starting might as well be the hardest thing I’ll encounter in gardening

I am now writing my posts on a tablet. My mom bought an 11-inch tablet last December, thinking her 8-year-old tablet will give out soon. She had me set up the tablet but after I set it up, she just set it aside. Tablets, phones, and computers don’t store well in drawers and unused. They go bad insanely quick. So, I decided to use it.

I mostly use it to read Kindle books and do my daily language lessons. With the larger screen, I can read the texts easier.

With my next trip in about 3 weeks, I am trying to get used to writing my posts with a stylus pen. I am going to try to travel light, which means I am not bringing my laptop on this trip. I thought about even ditching the tablet but I knew that there was no way I would ever get used to composing my posts on my phone. So, here I am writing my posts by hand as opposed to using keyboard. It’s actually kinda fun.

It’s a long weekend because of President’s Day. I wonder what I’ll be doing this weekend. Whatever it is, I hope the weather will cooperate. 🤞🏻
