Happy Saturday! A big thanks to Natalie of Natalie the Explorer for hosting WeekendCoffeeShare.
I’m on the road right now, so I’m writing this post early. It’s Thursday night as I’m writing this.
By the time this post goes live, I will probably be in hour two of my 6-and-a-half-hour journey to Cheyenne, Wyoming. The thing I’m worrying about is the weather. The weather forecast was all good – sunny and warm – until Wednesday night when I watched the weather forecast and it showed a ginormous storm cloud over the state of Wyoming.
I wrote in my post on Monday that my mom was considering canceling the road trip. At that moment, I began to consider it, too, given the weather. I don’t think anyone would want to walk around in wet weather.
I checked the weather again and it appeared the chance for rain had lessened. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad after all. Unfortunately, that night my mom asked her other sister to join us on the trip, which is my worst nightmare when it comes to road trip. That sister is just not road-trip material.
Guess what?
My worst nightmare came true. That sister is coming along.
So now, the car is either quiet because it’s still early and both of the sisters are sleeping, or chaotic with my mom yelling and lecturing somebody. I hope it’s the first scenario.
Before I left, I took some photos of the blooming flowers in my garden. I took it with the DSLR camera because I can get a better close-up.

I couldn’t believe that after 3 years, I suddenly realized I have 2 different varieties of peony – the pink one and the one with white petals and pinkish-violet base. I don’t know how I, as a gardener, could’ve done it but then I do forget what I planted a lot of the times. It’s why I must write down every time I do something in the garden.
The pollinator meadow is progressing nicely. The tiny blue bells (the dainty light blue flowers with the white center) are starting to blooming. I loved those last year and was worried they wouldn’t return. I hope there’s more of those. I love that light blue color.
Of course, a pollinator patch must have California poppies. They open when it’s sunny and close when it’s not. What a bunch of smart little things.
Then there’s the penstemon. I heard it attracts hummingbirds. I’m looking forward to seeing some this summer.
Well, I better return to the road trip. I wish those in the U.S. a great memorial day weekend and until next week…

Love the flowers. Hope the road trip is going well enough for you and yours.
