Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #368 – Autumn

Happy Sunday! John from Journey with Johnbo is hosting this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge with the timely topic of Autumn.

Of the 4 seasons, I love spring and autumn for different reasons. I love spring for the productivity in the garden while I love autumn for the colors. I love it when I’m standing on a path, whether it be a trail or a pedestrian path, and the trees in front of me are just a simple shade of green and yellow. The different colors make life less monotonous and more exciting, don’t you think?

I am so glad I made the drive up the mountains two weeks ago to see the autumn color show of 2025. I don’t know about you but I find the colors tend to dull a little bit after a rain storm, which we got dumped hard the last two days. Let’s just say the amount of rain was probably the equivalent of what we’re supposed to get in the last 4 months.

This is my favorite so far of all the autumn colors I took that day. I love driving on that road. It’s windy and a bit thrilling. It’s the kind of road my mom would be shrieking and squeezing her eyes shut the entire way. The views on this road is beautiful at anytime during the year as I have also been here in summer.

Autumn has not hit the lower elevations, meaning my neighborhood. The trees around me are still pretty green, showing no signs that it’s entering dormancy and it probably won’t until the end of the month, after first frost.

Finally, I will close with a shot of some Japanese maple leaves I took in Nara, Japan about 2 years ago. I believe autumn had just begun to descend on Japan and I was so glad I managed to grab a photo of fall colors in Japan.
