Happy Saturday!
As I am writing this, it’s actually Thursday evening – the evening prior to getting on a flight to Los Angeles. In fact, I should probably get to bed but I wanted to prepare future posts so I don’t have to worry about writing this post on my tablet.

Anyway, it’s been a hectic week. My body is screaming at me to stop and I did stop. I stopped planted because I must prepare for an upcoming storm. It supposed to drop the nighttime temperature to low 40’s degree-Fahrenheit to upper 30’s. That’s cold and not at all good for tomatoes, cucumbers, and sweet potatoes. To be honest, if I knew this would happen, I wouldn’t had planted any of it but in the last minute, Mother Nature decided to throw another curve ball.
I ended up planting all the cherry tomatoes and cucumbers along with 4 sweet potato slips and the Malabar spinach. My last frost date was April 27, so I shouldn’t be worried about something like a potential light frost but I am because nature is insane.
In preparation for all of this, I got hurt several times this week. First, I nicked my pinkie with the pruner, then I got fiberglass in my thumb while setting up the temporary hoops. All on my left hand. So I really hope this trip is worth all the pain I went through.
During my trip, I will try to look the other way and hope my aunt will take care of the garden for me. I tried to tell her what to do like how to cover the garden but she found every word I said humorous, “I don’t have all day to cover everything for you.” She said.
All I asked was 4 beds and 2 grow bags be covered and everything has already been set up, all she would need to do would be to throw the covers to the other side and clip it. It isn’t as though she’d be busy. She’d be in bed if she had nothing to do. I’m not asking her to do this for me every day. This is just a 3-day event, after that, it covers off.

Perhaps, I really can’t count on anyone in this family.
So I decided to deploy the Wall of Water and let the power of water protect the plants. If you don’t know the Wall of Water, you must look it up because I can’t describe it. I only have 3, so I had to pick the plants I want to save. I picked a Sunsugar tomato, a Super Sweet 100 tomato, and a Martino’s Roma tomato.
Sunsugar and Super Sweet 100 are my top pick when it comes to cherry tomatoes. Their tastes are so different from one another and so much better than any other cherry tomato varieties I’ve tried. I’ve never grown Martino’s Roma and I have backup plants for this one but it’s a bush variety… too many reasons.
Anyway, fingers crossed that everyone will survive while I’m gone for the week. I appreciate you stopping by and thanks to Natalie for hosting Weekend Coffee Share and hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.

I hope your plants will turn out alright, Yinglan! Yes, nature is very unpredictable. I hope this trip will be enjoyable for you! at least you will miss the stormy weather!- Pam

Hi, Yinglan. I hope your plants will turn out okay, and your injuries from the pruner and glass heal up fast. The weather has been so up and down. We are under a fog advisory where I live. Anywya, I hope your trip goes well.
