Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #398 – Pick a Color

This week, in a turn of events, I am posting my entry for Lens-Artists Challenge on a Monday. Hosted by Ritva, I am picking the color brown for Lens-Artists Challenge #398.

I am writing this post, still on a little 36-hour train adventure heading for Seattle. Thankfully, there has been consistent 5G internet along the way, so I haven’t been too bored. Since I’m posting from my phone, it’s taken forever to type these words, so I will be keeping this as short as possible. Apologies for the lack of stories for this pictures. These pictures were taken along the way and I hope you enjoy.

This is an empty farm plot in central California, near Salinas, I think. After seeing Salinas, I now understand why Steinbeck set his novels in this town. I quite enjoyed looking at the farmland from the train.

This is the reason for this train ride. The train hugged along the Pacific shores for quite a bit of the journey. I enjoyed the parts of the shores that were untouched by men and in California these days, you can really tell the difference.

Finally, here is the sunrise on the second day of my train adventure. I thought I would be in Oregon but apparently, I was still in Northern California when the sun rose.

I didn’t have much sleep that night because the coach seats were not made for sleeping. So I put on an audiobook and watched the sky brighten and the sun come out outside the window. I don’t get to see sunrises where I live because of the mountains so this was a treat.
