It’s a Bank Holiday here in the UK, so a lot of us don’t have to go to work. Are you working today?

It’s Memorial Day here so I’m not working today but I have no doubt work will be busy this week as the work week will be shortened and I will have a lot of catching up to do after being away for over a week.

What do you like to do on your days off (not holiday/vacation).

On this off-day, I hope to truly relax. I came home to a lawn full of weeds and in need of a mowing. I haven’t stopped since I’ve been home and truly hope I will at least get to watch a movie today. I don’t have many days where I just take off for the fun of it. Most of of the time, I take days off to travel or for a day trip at a minimum. If I’m not doing either of those, I would be at home, fussing over the garden.

Have you booked a holiday/vacation this year?

I just came home from trip #1 of 2026. There are 3 scheduled and the next one will be in 2 weeks.

Have you ever had a Staycation (a holiday in your own country)

Hmm… the definition of staycation seems to be different in my neck of the woods. From my understanding, a staycation is when an individual chooses to stay at home for a vacation – as in not doing anything in terms of travel. I’ve never had a true staycation but I often picture those folks at home cleaning every cabinets and spaces from top to bottom.
