Teri didn’t bring lunch nor did she do lunch, at least only on those rare occasions when she could actually hear her stomach growling did she finally fished out the emergency protein bar that’s in her purse. It’s the thing about being an aspiring actress, you never know if you can afford your next meal, but Teri isn’t a starving aspiring actress anymore, she is a full-time working, salary-earning adult, the least she could do would be to treat herself more than once a month.
“Wanna join me and continue our conversation,” Harry’s words lingered in her brain for a moment, why did those words feel suspicious, she wondered before answering, “I didn’t bring lunch today.”
“Conversation doesn’t mean lunch nor does lunch mean conversation,” Harry said with a smile, “besides, if you’re hungry, there’s always something in the fridge left over from a meeting or something.”
The words “something in the fridge” did not sound pleasant to Teri’s ears and immediately felt her face scrunch up like she’s smelled something disgusting, “Uh, maybe a rain check?”
The smile on Harry’s face grow wider, “it’s a date, then,” immediately catching his faux pas, he corrected, “I mean a plan,” before hurrying out of the office.

When people have to plot and scheme to try to start a relationship, it’s time to stop and ask themselves what they are doing and why. It seldom works out, after all.

I think some either lacks the confidence to go and ask the person they like or they feel a relationship must go through complicated loopholes to be a relationship.
