I feel if a flower is given the right kind of condition and we – the photographer – see the flower at the right moment, the flower can look very beautiful, doesn’t matter that it’s completely dried up. Do you agree?
I believe this is the dried up bloom to the aster featured in last week’s Flower Hour. It was the first bloom on the and currently, the only dried up bloom, so it fits the logic. I couldn’t help it. I saw it in my morning stroll in the garden yesterday and immediately went back into the house to grab the new macro lens, clipped it onto my phone, and went back outside. The sun was beaming at the perfect angle or was the flower following the sun?
I don’t know. Do aster behave like sunflowers?
Anyway, the way the sunshine was beaming at it, it was like the flower was under a spotlight. I don’t know whether this was a lucky shot but it came out just the way I wanted it. I’m still learning to use the new lenses for my phone. It’s not hard but there’s definitely an art to phone photography.
