What I’m about to show you was my grandfather’s best-kept secret.
Don’t get me wrong, the man loved his bread and taught me everything he knew from making his special pre-ferment to the way of shaping that makes the bread even more delicious when it came out of the oven.
Follow me to the basement of my grandfather’s beloved bakery. It’s named after my grandmother, Molly, and inside is my grandfather’s secret obsession – wine.
“What’s bread got to do with wine?” I once asked.
“Oh, everything, my dear. When you marry bread with wine, it’s a match made in heaven.”
(100 words)

Absolutely, there is nothing better than fresh bread with a glass of wine. I can almost taste at the end of the story.

A comforting read about a safe place. A marriage of biblical proportions. Well done.
