I live in a place that proclaims itself to have the “Greatest Snow on Earth” thanks to the existence of the Great Salt Lake. I agree but snow’s only great when it’s fresh, no matter where you are. Even several hours old snow is not as good as the fresh stuff – so powdery and fluffy. I sometimes feel both excitement and sadness to step in it because by stepping into it, it ruins the surface. There would now be a footprint in the snow and it no longer looks natural.
In this case, I just had to know, how much snow did we get?
Apparently, several inches. It came up to my winter boot.
This was 2023 when there was a record-breaking amount of snow. The winter’s been pretty dry since then. Let’s just there’s enough snow up in the mountains so we’ll have enough water to last us through the summer.
There is nothing more fresh than apple picked from a tree. This was last year’s apple harvest. There were Granny Smith apples, Fuji Apples, and Golden Delicious apples. The Fuji apples were from my front yard and the other two varieties were from my uncle’s backyard next door.
Their apple tree was planted by my mom and me about 15 years ago (has it really been that long?). It has 4 varieties in one tree – Granny Smith, Fuji, Golden Delicious, and Honeycrisp.
Unfortunately, the Honeycrisp had never been as fruitful as the Granny Smith and Golden Delicious. My favorite apple variety is the Granny Smith. I love the tartness of it. I feel sourness creates excitement on my tastebuds.
Finally, spring has always been my favorite time of the year to head up to the mountains. The mountainous air is always more crisp and fresh than the air in the city. Even the sky is more blue, don’t you think so?

Spring has always been my favorite time of year; it’s like a brand new, fresh start for everyone and everything.

It’s my favorite time of the year, too, for that reason and the reason that everything grows in spring.

Yes, Snow is beautiful when it’s fresh and pristine! 2023 was a huge year for snow, here too! Nothing like a fresh hike or fresh, homegrown apples.

I agree about snow…and I love fresh apples, nice and crisp. It’s so sad when they are just going soft. I’m always so disappointed.

Haha, apples never go soft in these parts. My aunt will devour them long before they will ever go soft.
