Friday Fictioneers: Road Trip Blues

PHOTO PROMPT © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

“Take a picture of the road!” Sadie woke with a jump as her sister continued, “Isn’t it beautiful?”

Fumbling for her phone, Sadie obeyed and snapped a photo before leaning back in her seat and sighed, “Are you sure you don’t want me to take the wheel? The rental is under my name, you know.” Sadie absolutely hates being the passenger on any trip. She would rather be the driver, at least that way, she would have something to do.

…and yet, every time she’s just about to nod off, her sister would wake her.

“Um, maybe when I’m tired.”

  1. I always feel a little uncomfortable when someone else is driving even my wife. I think it’s a matter of not being in control and the other driver doing everything just a little bit different.
