As I mentioned in my previous post, to get to Tianmen Mountain requires a 20 to 30-minute cable car ride. According to Google, this cable car rail is claimed to be the world’s longest with a total length of 24,459 feet (7,455 meters) and 98 cars.
The scenery changes frequently during the journey as you can tell from the gallery below. As we left the station, we floated across the city before heading into the rural and mountainous area. I didn’t take many pictures during the ride. I was sitting looking upward while trying to contain my vomiting. It wasn’t the height that made me feel sick, it was the constant swinging and each time the car dipped, I felt like we were about to plummet to the ground.
As we soared higher, I began training myself to take large deep breaths. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. After a minute though, I had to stop because the other three passengers were looking at me, worried I might give birth at any moment. Thankfully, we arrived and I was on the ground again.
