This week, on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #163, Amy challenges everyone with the topic of “Keep Walking.”
Looking at the photos on Amy’s post reminds me of the time when I completed the most difficult hike I’ve attempted to-date – Waterfall Canyon, completed in 2017.
It wasn’t that the hike was long – it was a measly 1.5 mile – but after the first 0.8 miles, the trail became difficult. My aunt and I were climbing over rocks and boulders while making sure we were not stepping on movable rocks. We stopped often as the elevation climb took a lot of strength. I remember telling myself, “just one more step.” I even recall counting my steps – one two three, one two three, just one more step.
I don’t recall how long it took my aunt and I to reach the 40-foot waterfall but when I got there, all I remember was I didn’t want to move anymore.
To reach to the 40-foot waterfall sound challenging. Thank you, Ying for sharing your hiking experience with us!

It was challenging and I don’t think I can attempt it again. Thank you for dropping by. 🙂

Wonderful place, worth all the struggle. But I don’t think I can do that now with all my pains in my knee. Happy that you can.

Thank you. I don’t think I can do it again either as I am now too suffering from chronic knee pain from all the calcium deposits in my joints. I was glad I got to do it though. 🙂

Same here. Lucky we were able to do it when we were younger. Have a good day, Yinglan!

Love the action shots of getting to the waterfall. Getting up there is the reward :-).

Once is enough, Ying. You will forever have something to talk about. And your poor aunt!!!

Absolutely! My aunt had fun though, she actually hiked this again last year, once more than me.

She’s a good woman who will live long and prosper with all that hiking, Ying!
