Good morning or afternoon and welcome. Coffee? Tea? It’s either or for me but I’m leaning toward coffee these days, so…
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you it’s been a weird week. Perhaps it’s the effect of the long weekend.
Monday was Labor Day and then Tuesday and Thursday were spent at the office trying to figure out ways to work around a new program the company’s started implementing this week. I can tell you, I was about half dead in the water until Friday when I finally figured out a way.
On the plus side, I finally called the doctor who did the carpal tunnel release for my left hand 4 years ago after searching my medical records. I gave the clinic a call and now I have scheduled to do a nerve study of my right wrist in November and hopefully the surgery will happen before the year end.
The carpal tunnel in my right hand isn’t new. I’ve had it for years, just never thought it would cause as much pain as it is now. I think doing credit card reconciliation might had contributed it. One can only click the mouse so many times before resulting in some nerve damage in the hand.
If you’re not familiar with carpal tunnel, it’s when the nerve that controls finger movement is constricted, causing the first 4 fingers to go numb. It won’t affect the pinky as it’s part of another nerve.
For the last few weeks, the pain has been getting worse in my right hand. There are on and off numbing of the fingers and I can’t even make a fist without pain. It’s been unbelievably frustrating at times especially when I’m sleeping and the burning pain wakes me up in the middle of the night.
I cannot this is happening! Err…
If we were having coffee, I would tell you at the beginning of the week, I was expecting to get my braces put on on the 22nd of this month. By the end of the week, however, after another brief consult with the oral surgeon, it looked like wires were crossed between the oral surgeon and orthodontist, I’m supposed to get one of two surgeries done first.
So at least 2 surgeries in the last few months of 2021, I have a feeling it’s going to be a rough few months ahead. Yikes!
I would thank you for joining me in this edition of #weekendcoffeeshare and hope we’ll both return next week.

Hi there!
I would opt for a chilled beverage because weather is so damn hot here.
I spent this Saturday to get rid of the pending office tasks because they were refused to end up during the weekdays.😡
And now looking forward towards a relaxing Sunday. 🙂
Good luck with your upcoming surgeries. Wish you the best of your health 🙂

I’m sorry it’s still so hot there. It rained last night and it’s still raining. The temperature is finally cooling down here to autumn-level temperature. It’ll be nice to finally complete some yard projects come next week.
Ugh, I’m sorry you have to spend Saturday dealing with office tasks. I hate when that happens. 😡
I hope you get everything done and have a relaxing Sunday.

Hi Ying Lan. This is one of those posts that I don’t like to press the [ Like ] button for because I do not like you being in so much pain and annoyance regarding the mix up with your oral surgeries. Uck!
Hang in there. You’ll get through this with your normal grace.
So I need a [ So sorry to hear this ] button for this post.

Hi Gary, to be honest, I often view the like button as a “I’ve read it” button but I agree, there are some posts that’s inappropriate to like. I wish we have buttons like the ones in Facebook where we can choose the emotions about the posts. Wouldn’t that be nice?
I think the oral surgeries are long overdue though and if my previous orthodontist spent a little more effort trying to get my medical insurance to approve of the procedure, I’d probably had it done years ago. I have also been in enough pain to know that it’s a temporary annoyance, as irritating as it is.

Agree with Gary on this, and I like your idea of a ‘I’ve read it’ button. Good luck with your week.

Sending positive thoughts and I hope that they are able to fix your pain. Glad you have a plan for the changes at work.

Thank you. I think the most painful part of all this is the waiting game – waiting for the doctor’s office to call to schedule the surgery.
