To be honest, I thought I would have a lot of fun with my fiction-themed A-to-Z in 2023 and while I did have fun, it was also hard at times. I thought about not doing the challenge this year because I’ve been struggling to come up with a theme and I have no interest in writing another 26-part story but I’ve participated in this challenge for so many years and not participating would feel like something’s missing. Before I reveal my theme for 2024, let’s first lookback on the themes from yesteryears:
- I did a completely random theme in 2015 where I just posted whatever was on my mind that day.
- In 2016, I did quotes where a quote was posted each day.
- I traveled in 2017 and didn’t have time to do the challenge
- In 2018, my theme was Photo Story where I post a photo along with a story about the photo.
- In 2019, to coordinate with my busy work schedule, I went with the easy theme of 26 Wordless Photos and you know what they say, “a picture tells a thousand words”.
- Skipped 2020 because of, well, 2020.
- “Of all the things I am” was my theme in 2021 which was sorta a memoir, to let my reader and followers get to know me a little better.
- In 2022, I wrote a 26-part story about a psychotic millionaire writer/killer. I loved writing all those cliffhangers to keep the readers in suspense.
- In 2023, I wrote another 26-part story about a day in high school from 26 characters’ point of view.

Now onto this year’s theme:
I’ve always struggled with my emotions. After experiencing mental and emotional clarity for what felt like the first time in my life during my mom’s absence last December, I am now back to the mental muddiness I was before my mom’s absence. The clarity was very surprising to me, in a good way, and I’ve been trying to separate and organize my emotions.
It’s a difficult task because there are so many of them bombarding me all the time and most of the time, I struggle to differentiate them let alone name them.
This year, throughout April, I want to explore 26 emotions through quotes, thoughts, and other means. I hope you will join me on this journey.

A nice theme.

Exciting theme reveal! I’m looking forward to following your A-to-Z journey throughout April. Best of luck with the challenge. I’ve restarted my blog and deleted all the old content since I’ve been away for about 10 years and am coming back with the A-to-Z Challenge, hopefully it’ll give me some blog theme motivation and some dedicated readers.
