It’s funny for me to think about these colors – red and green – because when it comes time for the year-end holidays, I would often contemplate on how these colors would look on my braces.

#SundayStills: The Feeling of #Peace
Living in a world where we are constantly bombarded by noise whether by electronic devices or by traffic – ground or air – and by the constant incoming of information by way of social media, there is nothing more peaceful than quiet and solitude. For me, being at peace allows not only my heartrate to calm but it also allows me to reflect on my thoughts and dive deep into thoughts and emotions I don’t normal think about.

It’s Thanksgiving this week in the U.S. and for as long as I’ve had this blog, I’ve always done a “Things I’m thankful for…” post but to be completely frank, if it wasn’t for this week’s #SundayStills, I just about completely forgot. Of course, I know I have a shortened work week but that’s about it. It was a chaotic week last week with road trip planning and a more chaotic weekend. I won’t go into detail in this post. It would ruin the tone.

It has been a very mild start to winter so far. Looking back at my posts from last November, the first snow storm had already fallen and I wrote about having layers of frost and ice in the garden, yikes. And emergency alert about snow squalls? Double Yikes!

As I sort and edit the nearly 1,000 photos I took on my trip to Japan, I feel like I’m experiencing Japan all over again as I find the story behind each photo. My favorite photos have so far been the nature photos.

As I sit here in my cold bedroom writing this post, I realized, I haven’t explored anywhere new in Utah this year. Usually, I would usually go to at least one place I either never been or haven’t been in a while each year.

I love to look at any city from a high vantage point because it always amazes me to see how dense the city really. This is a look at Osaka, Japan from the Umeda Sky Building – a 140-m building in the heart of Osaka. Looking at the bridges, I was frankly surprised by how different they are.

Nooooo… it’s too soon for autumn, despite autumn being one of my favorite seasons (aside from spring), where I am – in northern Utah – summer is still very much alive with 90+ degrees temperatures and no sign of autumn is approaching but who knows, these things can come with a snap of a finger. Not my fingers, Mother Nature’s.

Despite having some failures in the garden this year like the pest infestation and my inability to grow squash, I feel this garden season has been a wonderful and successful one and as August ends and September rolls around, I have a sinking feeling I’ll have to say goodbye to the 2023 garden very soon. I can’t express gratitude enough for all that it’s given me from food to joy to admiration to other wonderful feelings. Therefore, I will dedicate this post to celebrate the garden. I hope you enjoy this photo gallery.
