A fun mix-and-mash on Grimm brothers tales..
“Who do you reckon is behind that door?” Hansel asked. “Getting kind of hungry over here.”
Gretel groaned, “Not this again. Haven’t we learned our lesson? Was running from the witch after being fattened up not difficult enough?”
“Hey!” Hansel snapped, “A man’s got to eat. That’s a cute little door there, I’m sure the fellow who lives inside is nice.” He knocks on the large wooden door, which opened a moment. “Hmm, that’s odd, I don’t see anyone.”
“That’s because I’m down here,” said a grumpy dull voice.
“Oh,” Hansel and Gretel said in unison as they both looked down to see a dwarf man with a large red nose and angry eyes.
“Um, sorry to disturb you but we were wondering if you have any food.” Hansel said.
“Who do you think we are?” Snapped the dwarf.
“Grumpy, who’s that at the door?” A voice asked from inside the house.
“Nobody,” Grumpy shouted, irritated and turned back to Hansel and Gretel. “We don’t have any food.” He snarled and sighed. “We sent her out to get some but she hasn’t returned. So go somewhere else.” He then took a step back and slammed the door in Hansel and Gretel’s faces.
