Note: this is 100% fiction
Firmly anchoring my garden fork in the ground, I blow a gentle kiss to the ferns growing out of my husband’s boots. These boots were the last of my husband’s earthly possessions.
This will forever be the site where I can go when I want to visit my husband. His favorite ferns will find a way to spread its roots beyond the boots.
Now, there’s just one last thing to do. I grab the golden urn my husband picked out prior to his departure from this earthly plane, open the lid, and whisper, “You are free now, my dear. Go be with the wind.”
Love your story Yinglan! So sweet and nice. Thanks for joining in.
