When I think tranquil, I think calm waters.

When I think tranquil, I also think spending a few hours watching animals live their lives.

Here is a look from my third hike this year – the hike that probably brought new fears to my life and had the most impact on my hiking experience even though I can most definitely blame myself for wearing poor traction shoes on this hike. Continue reading “Photo of the Day!” →

I had my second hiking adventure at the end of February. Continue reading “Photo of the Day!” →

I absolutely love water photography and take every chance I can get to photograph it. This picture is from my most recent trip to Bear Lake. It was my second time to visit this beautiful lake. My first time was in September. This time, I came with my mom and her friends. I was once again the navigator.
There we were standing on the beach and just as I was about to take some pictures of the water since I didn’t get many great pictures the first time, our friends decided to skip stones. He’s quite good at this.

This is his son’s attempt. His son basically picked up a big ol’ rock and threw it into the water. The rock landed with a loud plop.

When my mom called my former student’s mother, aka her friend, last Saturday, I knew this Thanksgiving would be similar to last year’s Christmas – we would be spending the day with my former student’s family. Continue reading “Which Ways to Bear Lake Again?” →
This will definitely go down as one of my most memorable views of 2018. Continue reading “Photo of the Day!” →

Here is another picture from my afternoon trip up Snow Basin on Sunday. I absolutely love the colors autumn offers in this picture. It’s one of the main reasons why I love fall – the colors are just incredible.
If it wasn’t for the cold, I believe I would’ve stood there longer than 5 minutes.

After completing my household tasks yesterday, I drove up to Snow Basin Ski Resort (about 30 minutes away) with every intention of doing one last hike before winter sets in. Continue reading “Which Ways to Snow Basin?” →

Here is a picture of a duck I took a few weeks ago when I went to Silver Lake. It was interesting just sitting there in the middle of the lake watching ducks swim. I never knew ducks swam the doggy paddle with their feet. There were two ducks that swam very close to me and I got to take some portraits of them, which I will be sharing in later posts.
It was a fun trip and I hope to take another fun day trip this month since I now have my own car. I just have to decide the place.

Then, here is a self-portrait of me walking away from my camera. It was shot during my solo-road-trip to Capitol Reef National Park. I took quite a few of self-portraits during my hike of the Grand Wash Trail because otherwise, how will I get people to believe me when I say I’ve been to Capitol Reef National Park?
Anyway, I thought it’d be fun to do one where I’m walking. So I parked the camera on my trusty tripod, set a timer for 10 seconds, and just walked.
This is my first time participating in this photo challenge. Hope you enjoy my take of looking up. Continue reading “Lens-Artist Photo Challenge: Look Up” →

I was quite saddened when I found out Cee decided to discontinue the Which Way Challenge as it is one of my favorite photo challenges even though I haven’t participated in a few weeks. It was why I took only a few which way photos when I went on my road trip last week. Continue reading “Which Ways in Capitol Reef?” →
