#WeekendCoffeeShare: Hooray for Long Weekends

Good morning, welcome or welcome back (for my regulars) to another edition of #weekendcoffeeshare. Please come on in to the warmth and out of the cold. It’s looking like it’s going to be another snowy Saturday in my part of the world.

“Crap, we’re stuck.” Em said as she dusted off her dress. A few minutes before, she and her husband, George, leapt from her granddad’s beloved train aka time machine as it hurdled 88-miles-per-hour toward what used to be a ravine.

In your opinion, do May/December (older partner with much younger partner) romances ever work?

It turned out this past weekend was that time of the year again – tax filing time. I hate that time of the year, right after the health insurance buying period (November 1 – mid-December). Even though she claims she knows more about taxes than me, my mom cannot file a single tax return without calling me over to help.

“Honey!” I shout and immediately, I can hear a pair of big feet padding down the corridor to outside the bathroom door.

If the government offered to suspend all laws, and law enforcement for 24 hours, letting you (and everybody else) do whatever you wish… Would you be in favor of it, or not? (Credit for this question goes to Cyranny and her Daily Quickie Question)

Is it necessary to trust someone you like? (friends, acquaintances or co-workers with whom you have no familial ties)
No. As my former co-worker used to say, “Trust must be earned.”
Do you hold grudges? What do you do when someone really irritates you?
I do hold grudges sometimes. Not that I want to. There are some things that’s easy to forgive but hard to forget.
When someone really irritates me, I try to vent, get my anger out in the open before the anger turns to full-blown meltdown. If you follow my blog long enough, you’d know I vent my anger right here since I can’t do it in real life.
What’s the most sensible thing you’ve heard someone say?
It’s better to live in cooler climates than warmer climates because you can layer up to keep warm. In warmer climates, you cannot shed layers, otherwise, you would end up barenaked.
Is crying a sign of weakness or strength in adults?

No, crying is a bodily function and it certainly does not show weakness in anyone.
MMLM Sunday Writing Prompt – Driving
This week’s prompt MMLM Sunday Writing Prompt is “Driving.“
Driving Test

Based on actual events…
“Did your sister call you?” I asked my mom when I met her in the stairwell for our afternoon walk.
Mom shook her head, “No, why?”
“She called me this morning, asking some very random, weird questions.”
“What kind of questions?”
My brows knitted together, “I couldn’t really understand her. She was whispering.”
“Oh, I think I know what she was calling about.” Mom said when we reached the first floor. “Isn’t she taking her driver license test today? She’s probably calling to ask you for answers.”
“What?” I shrieked. “She can’t do that.”
“Oh, just help her, won’t you?”
“Help her? Doesn’t she know ‘Cheaters never win?'”
That was my aunt’s 4th attempt at her driver license test. She would go on for another 6 attempts before passing the written test on her 9th attempt. As for the road test, even with over 10 years of driving experience in China, it took her 3 attempts to pass the road test. This is proof of karma and the phrase, “cheater never prosper.”

Why do we dream?
I believe we dream because our minds are trying to tell us something, something we may not be aware when we’re conscious, or when we are having trouble pinpointing our desires even if it’s temporary.

The theme for this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge is Emotions, which really made me think hard as I don’t normally take portraits nor any photos portraying emotions. It resulted in me digging into photos which was an interesting task as I discovered photos I didn’t even know I had.
