To be honest, I did not think I can come up with pictures for this topic but then, I started looking into my archive and saw these pictures from my trip to Macau earlier this year where I visited a very fancy hotel with lots priceless statues and valuables. Immediately thought of this photo challenge. Here is my selection for this week’s topic of Gilded. Enjoy!

Though I am not happy that it’s been a wet week, I am grateful for the rain. Continue reading “Sunday Gratitude” →
Here are a few photos in my archive that I think will satisfy the topic of going big. Enjoy! Continue reading “Tuesday Photo Challenge – Go Big” →

The weather this week is the opposite of the last few months. Continue reading “Photo of the Day!” →

Here is a picture of a duck I took a few weeks ago when I went to Silver Lake. It was interesting just sitting there in the middle of the lake watching ducks swim. I never knew ducks swam the doggy paddle with their feet. There were two ducks that swam very close to me and I got to take some portraits of them, which I will be sharing in later posts.
It was a fun trip and I hope to take another fun day trip this month since I now have my own car. I just have to decide the place.

Then, here is a self-portrait of me walking away from my camera. It was shot during my solo-road-trip to Capitol Reef National Park. I took quite a few of self-portraits during my hike of the Grand Wash Trail because otherwise, how will I get people to believe me when I say I’ve been to Capitol Reef National Park?
Anyway, I thought it’d be fun to do one where I’m walking. So I parked the camera on my trusty tripod, set a timer for 10 seconds, and just walked.

Since now that we are in October, I guess it means the season of pumpkin spice is upon us but of course, that season began more than a week ago. Continue reading “Photo of the Day!” →

I am grateful for friends. They are truly the ones who makes my days remarkable.

Thank you everyone for all your birthday wishes yesterday. I had the best birthday ever. Here, have yourselves a virtual sundae. 😆😄😂🤣 That sundae was excellent, by the way. I had it when my co-workers and I went out to lunch yesterday. They told the waiter it was my birthday and the waiter brought me the sundae after lunch. I was completely surprised.

I am grateful for the arrival of fall. It means I finally don’t have to slobber my arms in sunscreen every time I go out because I will be wearing a jacket over my short-sleeve shirt. 😄

I am grateful for getting to go on a short day trip yesterday. This time, it really was last minute. I figured, why should I be stuck at home when the weather is so nice outside?

Here is a conversation I had with my mom last week. I’m trying hard to let go of the conversation because it made me angry how little trust my mom has in me nowadays. So I’m writing it down. Continue reading “Trust Issues?” →

I was experimenting here in this photo. I have been watching YouTube videos, trying to learn photography technique. One of the many photographers I’m following on YouTube suggested instead of taking a general landscape or a macro, why not shooting a photo from a certain perspective? So there I was, attempting to capture the view from the flowers’ perspective.
What do you think?

This interesting perspective photo definitely made it into my top 5 favorite photos taken during my recent road trip. It was through this photo I finally learned what my circular polarizing lens does. Since then, I’ve been using it all the time, along with my camera hood which I would discover its usage during my trip to Bear Lake.
This photo was taken at the Petroglyphs, by the way, a wall full of carvings made by the Fremont people. Today, we call them vandalism but back then, there’s no law against vandalism.

I am grateful for getting to sleep late for my Saturday. My mom went to work super early to make up for her hours and therefore, there was no one to disrupt me from my much needed sleep. I’m always grateful for getting to sleep.

Of all the places I could’ve gone, I had no clue why I had chosen to go to Logan Canyon and Bear Lake on Labor Day. Other than knowing the scenery will be beautiful, I knew absolutely nothing about these two places. So imagine my surprise when I saw the pristine blue water of Bear Lake from the overlook point.
After an hour of driving along the twisty roads of Logan Canyon, I reached this rest area near the summit. I half-heartedly wanted to skip this rest stop but then I saw the view. Oh yeah, it was definitely worth it to stop there.
