There was a wind storm last week – 70 mile-per-hour gusts blowing past the protective mountain ranges. It made my Wednesday drive to work a bit treacherous yet interesting at the same time.
I was on a field trip last Sunday on a quest to search for spring and what did I find, a bunch of kids chasing bubbles. It’s been a while since I’ve blown bubbles but I think this is so much better. Let the breeze carry the bubbles.
I love macros. They are so exotic and different and really only can be seen either with a magnifying glass, a dedicated macro lens, or in my case, a good ol’ regular camera lens with a screw-on macro filter. These filters are tricky to use sometimes as everything must be completely still and as you can see from the below photo, it only magnifies a specific area of the image while blurring the rest.
Close up of Japanese Maple Leaves
Since the pandemic began in March 2020, I had not had the opportunity to photograph with my macro lens filters as I was being driven by work and anxiety to the point I had somewhat lost my muse and inspiration to make photographs. I hope to make some in 2021 as it’s looking like spring might be coming early. Therefore, please enjoy some pre-pandemic photos. These photos were from the beautiful spring of pre-pandemic world of 2019.
Almost 3 years ago, I moved into my current home. There were raised beds in the backyard and the front yard was incredibly bare except for a Japanese Maple tree which my mom has threatened to cut it down many times since and I have to keep reminding her that this is my house, not hers.
2 years ago, I started creating my garden. I planted 2 cherry trees, 2 plum trees, 3 strawberry plants, and 6 dahlia bulbs hoping to stop my neighbors’ weeds from invading my yard.
After re-reading the challenge rule, I realized it’s a different “three of a kind” – the kind where I’m photographing an object in three different angles, not the three of the same object three of a kind. Continue reading “A Photo a Week Challenge: Three of a Kind”→
I planted these leucanthemums in my backyard a few weeks ago and so far, they’re doing well. I took this picture about two weeks ago and I think it might be time for me to take more as more and more of these pretty flowers come in. Continue reading “Photo of the Week!”→
This is my first time participating in this challenge. I’ve been eyeing to participate but I always ended up procrastinating. Anyway, this week’s topic is hills and there are plenty of them in this picture.
This was from my hike up Indian Trail last spring. How I wish the weather is like this at the moment.
I haven’t seen much growth in these parts yet, it’s still freezing and snowing. Therefore, I’ll just have to use some of my old pictures for this challenge.
