It’s been a while since I participated in this challenge. This week’s theme is All About the Scenery and I came up with these two photos which are sort of a continuation from this post as both were taken during my solo trip to Capital Reef National Park in 2018.

Lens-Artists Challenge #139: Special Moments
I’ve had many special moments over the years. Most of them are of moments of solitude from watching the sunset on an island to completing solo hikes to catching a glimpse of autumn colors at its peak. It’s tough to have moments of peace and quiet with a family that can turn even the happiest moment in the most beautiful landscape into an argument at the drop of a hat.

Lens-Artists Challenge #138: Natural Light
I love the topic of Natural Light because landscape photography is absolutely dependent on it, at least, in my opinion.

To me, the word soft can mean so many things – fluffy as in furs or feathers, delicate, and in photography, soft-focus, meaning the texture has been taken out of the photographs. This week, I hope these old photos can convey the meaning of soft.

Lens-Artists Challenge #136: Subjects that Begins with the Letter S
This week, for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #136, we are challenged to find a photo that contains a subject which begins with the letter S. I decided to get creative with this photo. Hope you like it.

Lens-Artists Challenge #134: From Forgettable to Favorite
A few weekends ago, I spent a few hours sitting before my laptop with Adobe Lightroom Classic opened on the second monitor sorting photos. I knew I had a lot of photos but I was not expecting to be almost 5,000 photos. How did I manage to take so many photos and not remember that I took them?

I think my photography journey truly began when I took and posted this photo (above) at the end of March 2015. It was this close up of the Japanese Plum Blossom taken with a simple Fuji 7.2 megapixel point-and-shoot that got me interested in photography and I haven’t stopped much since.

Lens-Artists Challenge #127: Precious Moments

There is something about nature that if you manage to catch it in the right moment and under the right light, it’s so beautiful that you will remember it for the rest of your life. I got the chance to witness such wonder this year during the height of autumn on September 20th. I was so glad I brought my best lens along to capture those moments.

Creating a Container Garden…
Almost 3 years ago, I moved into my current home. There were raised beds in the backyard and the front yard was incredibly bare except for a Japanese Maple tree which my mom has threatened to cut it down many times since and I have to keep reminding her that this is my house, not hers.
2 years ago, I started creating my garden. I planted 2 cherry trees, 2 plum trees, 3 strawberry plants, and 6 dahlia bulbs hoping to stop my neighbors’ weeds from invading my yard.

Playing with Lightroom after watching a few videos on YouTube on how to make a subject pop. This is one of my favorite macros and I think with the adjustment, I achieved my goal of making my subject pop.
