Okay, I’m going to make this quick. It might be the caffeine talking because I’ve been feeling jittery, like I’m walking on a wire. Maybe I’ve been having too much coffee lately, trying to stave off the tiredness. So excuse me if I start talking in bullet points.

It’s amazing how I’m able to find so much in common with my fellow traveler and guest, who happens to be a 15-year-old.

Of the five Yellowstone trips I’ve taken so far, I think this is the most relaxing trip so far or maybe I’m just exhausted from all the traveling I’ve done recently.
Continue reading “Yellowstone 2021 Day 1” →Good morning or afternoon, let’s have a virtual drink. I nabbed some fine tea bags from my work conference in Las Vegas, let’s try those.

I think a picture of the sunset from the 35th floor is a fitting picture to end this journey. Another end to another trip.

What would be much better if you could just change the color of it?

I think this is definitely a 2021 thing. I was told this conference is going to be crazy, that there would be lots of people, believe me, 1000 is a lot of people especially in a time like this but it has been slow-going working at the registration desk.
Continue reading “Las Vegas 2021 Trip Day 3” →One thing I must admit about Las Vegas or perhaps every city, the night view is definitely different from what I’m used to especially when it’s from the 35th floor of a 5-star hotel room.

It was around 8:45 AM when I arrived in Vegas and it was 100-degrees. So hot!
It’s my first time traveling to Las Vegas guys via an airplane and I have to say it’s more exhausting than driving – you have to park at the airport, ride a shuttle to the terminal, go through security, walk to the gate, board the plane, and ride for an hour. An hour later, more walking. Oh and let’s not mention all the things you cannot bring with you when you air travel.
I’m on my way to the hotel. My cold has somewhat subsided after taking multiple medications this morning. Hopefully, it’ll stay that way.
Good morning or afternoon, let’s have a virtual drink.

It is never easy. It has never been easy for me to let go but this must be done. The inevitable has been dragged on for far too long. Just to do it, say it.

It has certainly been an interesting Independence Day this year. I spent this morning squeezing past crowds, trying to find a good spot to watch the annual parade. There was so much festivity in the park, something I didn’t think I’d ever see again after more than a year of masks and social-distancing.
The city started celebrating on July 2 and I got the feeling that this was a belated celebration of the city’s 100th birthday was supposed to be 2020 but…
This was my first time seeing this parade. I was an active participant last time, walking alongside my church’s float while tossing candies into the crowd. It is definitely a different experience. One, I get to see all the parade floats and two, I know now why there is a plastic bag tied to the little kids’ wrists. This is like a second Halloween for them.
If I get to go to this parade again next year, I would be better prepared. I would pack chairs, a tent, and lots of ice and water to keep cool and to prevent my arms from getting ten shades darker.

Good morning, come on in and let’s have a cup of coffee and a chat. We better have our chat indoors this week, it’s going to be hot again today.

I am starting a new series, one where I can share some random thoughts I have been having each week. For this inaugural post, I’m titling it “Useful Not Useless”.

It’s easy to forget things sometimes like the fact that just five years ago, I was living in the van that’s now gathering dust in my driveway, that whenever I’d go in for job interviews and scribble a random address on the form, that I might be the luckiest person in the world.
