1. What’s your favorite way to exercise? (if you do or don’t. Exercising one’s mind is a valid answer IMHO, because that’s my favorite).
I once played Wii Fit at one of my mom’s friend’s house. It was fun and I broke a sweat playing it. I wanted to get one for a long time but I couldn’t find one other than one that’s been refurbished (I don’t really trust refurbished products especially when it comes to electronics unless I’m told why it’s refurbished). That remains my favorite way to exercise – playing games (real or virtual) – as long as it’s fun and gets me moving, I’m in.
2. What’s more important to you – family or friends?
Well, considering all my friends are virtual and I don’t really have any in real life other than co-workers, I would have to stick with the only other choice. I guess family is more important.
3. (a segue of sorts from last week’s SYW)..Have you ever voted for someone (in whatever venue – politics, contests, school elections) based solely on how they looked?

Haven’t we all?
I must say though, I don’t recall doing this sort of thing in the U.S ever but I may have done it once when I was in elementary school in China.
I think it was to pick a new class leader or something. Two of the prettiest girls from my grade were running for this role. They were best friends but from what I remember, one of the girls was almost second best, some may even call her a “sidekick”. I wanted to pick her as the class leader but the other girl somehow felt more capable. I thought it was her look at the time – pretty girls are smarter kind of thing – but it turned out she didn’t need my vote. The pretty girl won by a landslide.
4. (silly one) How could carousels be spiced up so they are more exciting?

I haven’t rode on a carousel in at least 2 decades and I actually got on one last Friday at the zoo. I thought I’d get vertigo riding it because I was already feeling a bit off balance standing on the floor of the carousel. The ride turned out to be fun and brought me back to the golden days (when I had two parents).
I feel like this is one of the reasons carousels exist – to let adults experience childhood even if just a few minutes – and nothing can make that any more exciting.

Melanie has decided to let those pesky critters take control of this week’s Share your World again, so let’s see what has those critters unleashed this week.
8-19-2021 “Chip the Dignified if Species Confused Squirrel/Chipmonk” asks:
If you were to be cast as part of a comedy double act, which part would you play…. the straight man or the funny one, and why?
I will definitely be the part of the funny person. I am a straight man as it is though I often can’t help myself but laugh along. I can never resist a good laughter and it would make me a terrible straight person if I just stood there being all serious and acting like a rock.
8-26-2021 “Buster “Auuughhh I’m HIT!” , the Indestructible Possum” asks but Evil Squirrel decided to jump in with a lengthy preface:
“And while I had a few potential questions prepared… last week’s SCT SYW segment was a bit of a learning experience for me in getting a sample of what kind of taste many of the other participants have, as opposed to my tastelessness. Mitzi’s unicorn horn question seemed to really get some heads scratching out there. So I’ll avoid the obvious death theme*, and ask this SYW question based on Buster that should still challenge the imagination, which you all know I’m pretty big on…”
- For those not familiar with Buster – Buster dies a horrible death in every episode of SCT, any posts he’s featured in and most of the cartoon strips. Course in the strips he was the epitome of what I’ve heard tell of possum-kind – nasty, mean and will seriously bite you if cornered. They might have rabies too. We don’t have possums in Utah, so that’s not verified.

If you were to be reincarnated on Earth as any non-living/inanimate object of your choosing, what would you come back as and why?
That’s a tough one. I want to be something that doesn’t feel pain and it doesn’t get abused by any living thing, something like sand. That’s it! If I am to be reincarnated as any non-living/inanimate object, I would be a grain of sand on the beach.
When wind blows, I fly. When water comes, I swim. When I come together with lots of other sand, I become glass which can be a beautiful thing.
Fleabag, the Canine asks:
We all know how dogs mark their territory. How do you mark your territory?
I mark my territory by making it my own. Like with my yard, my neighbor loan me his tiller and my uncle helped me till my front yard on Sunday which took out most of my lawn. Now, I just have to wait until the rest of the grass dies until I proceed with the next step to turn my front yard into a rock garden. Now, how’s that for marking one’s territory?
A Share Your World question inspired by Shadow (The Supercilious Creature from the Pokemon ‘empire)
If you were on a trivia show and had to correctly answer ten questions in one subject to win a million dollars (or whatever currency is used in your locale), what would you hope the category would be?
Gee, I don’t know. I can’t say I’m an expert in any subject but I guess if you hit me with 10 questions that asks me to find the error in any sentence – whether grammatical or spelling, I think I can get it right. I used to be very good at those but I don’t know anymore.

‘Unca’ Sam – Cousin to America’s Uncle Sam (pictured below), who used to be our stalwart, thrifty and honest icon of America, but whom a certain orange and ugly with it crapped all over (maybe literally), so Uncle Sam’s message is now sullied permanently.
UNCA Sam – his sleazeball third cousin twice removed is everything that a certain T-dump aspired to be. Oily, corrupt, ugly as the south end of a north bound dog with diarrhea, and autocratic on top of it all. A real sleaze pie.
Unca Sam asks (A rare serious and thought-provoking SYW question inspired by Uncle Sam…)
In democratic societies, do you believe that the right to vote is merely a privilege or a duty for all citizens? This should not be thought of as an “Americans only” question. ANY ONE is welcome to answer.
I believe it’s both a privilege and duty because as someone who used to live in a country where most things regarding is government controlled and restricted to everyday citizens, despite only living there a short time, I understood the importance of individual freedom and the right to vote to elect leaders is part of that freedom.

Are human beings required to better themselves and will doing that make them happier?
I don’t think humans are required to do anything that they don’t want to do. I think if it’s required, doing it won’t necessary make them happier, if anything, it might have the opposite effect. With that said, based on my personal experience, self improvement or “bettering” ourselves often comes voluntarily, not forced. I think, as we age and become wiser, we will unconsciously self-improve.

Is it easier to love or to be loved?
In my opinion, to love is easier than to be loved. It’s a control mechanism, I think. We can control what to love or who to love or who we want to love back but to be love is out of our control. It’s the other individual who chooses whether or not we should be loved.
Outside traumatic brain injury, can memories be completely erased?
Um, yeah, by drugs, by very powerful high-tech machines. I recently saw an episode in a TV show where this guy’s memory was wiped due to an over-dosage of a drug.
Is there such a thing as a good death?
Having been through a near-death experience as a pre-teen, I have grown very fascinated with the concept of death over the years. If you read my flash fictions and short stories, you’d know I write about death quite a bit. Perhaps it’s got something with losing a few family members when I was young or maybe that near-death experience just stuck with me. If you ask me, I’d say, “yes, a good death exists when there is no pain such as when a person slips away in his or her sleep.”
and one ‘silly’ one because the former questions were fairly serious: What do you imagine is inside a baseball?
I’d imagine there’d be a hard core like the Earth.
