A Christmas Party

Friday night, I was at a party. It was nice and festive. There were more children than adults, the ratio of children to adult each table was about 6 to 2. In fact, our table was most likely the only table with the most adults, 6 adults and 4 children, two sat in chair while two sat on parents’ laps. Continue reading “A Christmas Party” →

I came across this challenge and couldn’t resist. I took this picture on the third day of my Chicago trip. This picture was taken at the entrance of Lou Mitchell’s Diner located at the start of Historic Route 66. Continue reading “Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 7 – Funny Or Strange Signs” →

The Best Thanksgiving

I can hardly believe it. Thanksgiving has come and gone this year and Christmas is coming in a month and 2016 in less than 5 weeks! This year feels like it’s just breezed by. It was just 12 weeks ago that I began school and now, I’m two weeks away from finals. Continue reading “The Best Thanksgiving” →

The 103rd Floor

I have a minor fear of heights. I say minor because I don’t freak out like my mom. My knees would just buckle. So when I found myself standing in line with my hotel roommate along with a few of the group members in line to board the elevator to the 103rd floor of the Willis (Sears) Tower on the afternoon of my third day in Chicago, I couldn’t help but feel nervous. Food Paradise

One of the things we did most on the trip beside walking was eating. I am not complaining here. I am actually a foodie. I enjoyed every minute of it. It was like I’ve landed in food paradise. Continue reading “Food Paradise” →

My Happy Place

“Go to your happy place,” I hear people say that when someone’s frightened or nervous about an upcoming event. The anesthesiologist said that to me right before he put me under the gas a few years ago when I had my oral surgery. Continue reading “My Happy Place” →
