Since it’s Mother’s Day, I’ve decided to re-post this from last Mother’s Day, May 10, 2015. It’s an old poem I wrote. Hope everyone’s enjoying their Sunday and Mother’s Day.

Sometimes, when I’m working and I’m bored, random thoughts would invade. Yesterday afternoon, the random thought of Mother’s Day brought me to search my archived files. Years ago, I dabbled in poetry and songs (I wanted to be a singer back then).
Of course, I wasn’t very good at it. Anyway, upon searching my poem collection, I came across this little something-something about mothers. I have no idea what the heck it was that inspired me to write this. Reading it, I kept giggling, thinking it’s so cheesy.
Since it’s Mother’s Day, I’m throwing it out there. I’m sure it’s not as good as some of you poets out there. It’s supposed to be a song. Please no judging.

“We’re going to freeze to death!” I squeal as I pile two more blankets over me, constructing a sort of tent. I have never been so cold in my life. It is the end of January, my teeth clatter as I bring myself dangerously close to the space heater.
