I feel incredibly thankful to be sitting at my computer right now. The weather’s been horrible and the drive home from school was terrifying and nerve-wrecking. The further north I went, the harder it rained. Several times during the drive, I was down to almost zero visibility. I couldn’t even see the lane lines.

480 Gallons of Weeds Enveloping the Yard
I should be studying at the moment but I can’t concentrate, not with mom babbling on the phone downstairs. Even if my door’s closed, I can still hear her.
The other thing is, my legs are itching like crazy and no matter what I put on it, it wouldn’t help. Last night, I put some Tiger Balm on it and this morning, it looked slightly better. I sat up in bed and brushed my finger against it and uh oh, I reactivated the itchiness.
This week, as I complained enough, I spent the afternoons on Monday and Tuesday at the rental property cleaning the backyard. Our tenant didn’t care that the grass in the backyard was a foot high or the fact that weeds had taken over the vegetable patch.
It took me two days just to clean up the vegetable patch. We accumulated sixteen 30-gallon bags of garbage. I got the pictures as well as the marks on my arms and legs to prove it.
These are the before and after pictures of the vegetable patch. I should’ve taken pictures on the first day but I forgot the camera. You can see three of the sixteen bag of weeds in the after-photo. It was madness. Vines, weeds, and dandelions enveloped the area.
My mom’s kicking the tenant out next month. Why? He’s unappreciative, that’s why.
She complained that after all the hard work we did, not only did the tenant not say thank you but he wants to modify his lease from one-year to month-to-month. All because of what? All because he’s still pissed because mom didn’t notify him first before helping him to mow the lawn that’s why. He said we invaded his privacy and threatened to sue.
Have you seen a more ungrateful person in your life?
The least you can do is say thank you but instead, you used the law against us. Mom said, “At least I’m a tolerable woman, otherwise, I would kicked kicked him out this second.”
Uh, I don’t think constantly complaining to me is consider really tolerable. Anyway, I just want to show you the before and after pictures. You can click on each one to enlarge. This is before.

Jealousy 2.0
I wrote a variation of this prompt exactly one week ago. I said I was jealous enough to start a fight with my friend. Well I’m not going to repeat that one. I’m going to talk of a new jealousy, one that stemmed from my childhood. Yes, I have plenty of jealousy, maybe too much. In fact, my face should be greener than the leaves of the blooming rose bushes outside the bay window in the living room.
I’m not going to write a letter though. Instead, I am just going to say it straight out.
I’m jealous of my friend, Joyce. There, I said it. She has basically everything I have ever wanted and more. She lives in a million-dollar house both here and in China. She gets to spend her dad’s money however she wants. She wants a car, she got it. In one sweep, an imported European car. She wants to go to Japan for the summer, she got it. She wants to go back to China three times a year, she got it.
What did I get? A nagging mother who’s always on my case of how I’ve made countless mistakes. This is life, everyone makes mistakes. I’m not perfect. You don’t have to state the obvious over and over.
So how did her life end up so perfect while mine end up like this?
I asked my mom this question. What does she blame it on? My dad’s passing. “If your dad was here,” she would say, “you would have everything you want and I would be retired right now.”
It made me wonder, if he was here, would my life really be better? Would my life turn out like Joyce’s? Would my jealousy go away?
I thought about it and the answer is no, I would still be jealous. I would still envy her well-being and beauty and independence. Because if my dad was here, I would never come to the U.S. and I would never get a proper diagnosis not to mention getting the medicine I need to suppress the symptoms.
So yes, there are still a ton to be jealous about because I will always be this short tiny Chinese girl that can’t seem to get away from home.

- Why did you start blogging? I love to talk and tell stories but most of all, when my days go bad, I have no one to complain to. I used to complain to my mom but we’ll just fight. I’m tired of fighting.
- What tips have you learned while blogging? Read read read as well as comment comment comment! If you don’t, no one will follow or read what you write. That and don’t go tag-crazy. Stick to <15 tags.
- What/who inspires you? Things that inspire me are books, and reading other bloggers’ posts. Sometimes when I read something, anything, ideas would pop into my head.
- What is your favorite meal/food item? I really like Subway sandwiches or other submarine sandwiches.
- What is ideal day for you? Wake up, breakfast, work, lunch, dinner, TV, sleep.
- If you could talk to someone famous who would it be and why? Hmm, that is a good question.
- What makes you laugh? Watching sitcom, not much make me laugh. I live with my mom so I kind of have to be immune to laughter.
- Where do you see yourself in five year’s time? Five years, that’s 2020. I see myself in a loft-style apartment in another state with a steady job and faraway from my mom.
- What are your passions in life? My passion? It used to be singing but now it’s writing.

- What advice would you give to someone starting out in the blogging world? The same as what I wrote for #2.

- I learned to play the piano and guitar when I was in 10th grade. I quit guitar after one lesson because my tiny
fingers couldn’t reach the strings. Piano, if I have a chance, I’d like to play it again. - I like music from 90’s and early 2000’s. At the moment, my favorite song is Slice by Five for Fighting.
- I used to hate taking pictures but now I’m addicted to it.
- Because of my bone disorder, I only grew 5-inches from when I was 10. 😦
- I love to keep things organized though I hate cleaning.
- I’m a major procrastinator. I often wait until the last minute to do anything even though my heart is dead set on completing the task early.
- I absolutely do NOT know how to write a happy ending though I’m working on it.
- My favorite color is lavender.
